LUBBOCK, Texas (May 28, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University softball placed a program-record five student-athletes on the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team, as the Lady Chaparrals matched the maximum number of selections permitted for the honor following the 2026 season.
Representing LCU on the Academic All-District Team were junior catcher
Kadin Vire, junior designated player
Brianna Chambers-Lee, senior outfielder
Ashlinn Hamilton, sophomore pitcher
Natalee Gray and sophomore pitcher
Kendall Ward.
The five selections are the most in a single season in program history for the CSC Academic All-District honor and highlighted a season in which the Lady Chaparrals posted a 28-23 overall record and a 24-16 mark in Lone Star Conference play.
Vire, an Exercise Science major from Waxahachie, Texas, led the Lady Chaps offensively while starting all 51 games. The junior batted .399 with 65 hits, 17 doubles, five triples and four home runs while producing a .638 slugging percentage and .465 on-base percentage. A First Team All-Lone Star Conference selection and NFCA All-Region Second Team honoree, Vire ranked among the Lone Star Conference leaders in batting average, hits, doubles and triples while also throwing out 11 base runners defensively.
Hamilton, a senior Exercise Science major from Denison, Texas, started all 51 games and finished second on the team with 10 home runs and 47 RBI. She hit .312 on the season with 49 hits, 10 doubles and a .580 slugging percentage while providing veteran leadership throughout the campaign. She also appeared 19 times in the circle and led LCU with a 2.77 ERA in 60.2 innings pitched.
Chambers-Lee, a Psychology major from San Jose, Calif., appeared in 48 games with 43 starts and batted .307 with 39 hits, 11 doubles, four home runs and 27 RBI. The junior posted a .401 on-base percentage and .488 slugging percentage during the season.
Gray, a Biology major from Burkburnett, Texas, made 17 appearances in the circle with 12 starts during her sophomore campaign, logging 61.1 innings pitched for the Lady Chaps. A high-mark on the season was registering the program's second-ever perfect game, as Gray achieved the mark at Vanguard and followed with six no-hit innings the following start at Midwestern State.
Ward, a sophomore Liberal Arts major from Round Rock, Texas, co-led LCU pitchers in appearances with 25 while throwing 77.2 innings over eight starts and 17 relief appearances. She led LCU with eight saves and has 13 in her LCU career.
To qualify for CSC Academic All-District recognition, student-athletes must maintain at least a 3.50 cumulative grade-point average while meeting competition requirements and demonstrating significant athletic contributions.
The LCU softball program has now produced 17 CSC Academic All-District recipients in program's history (since joining NCAA status in 2014). Delrosario and Gibbs are the program's first two-time recipients.
