CANYON, Texas (May 6, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University placed four student-athletes on the All-Lone Star Conference softball teams Wednesday evening, as the league announced its postseason honors during the annual awards banquet held inside First United Bank Center on the eve of the Lone Star Conference Championships.
Leading the way for the Lady Chaparrals was junior outfielder/catcher
Kadin Vire, who earned First Team All-LSC honors after producing one of the top offensive seasons in the conference. Senior pitcher/designated player
Ashlinn Hamilton collected Second Team All-LSC recognition, while senior second baseman
Riley Flores and freshman shortstop
Alexis Pacheco were both named Third Team All-LSC selections. Pacheco also earned a place on the Lone Star Conference All-Freshman Team.
The quartet helped guide LCU to a 28-22 overall record and a 24-16 mark in conference play during the regular season, positioning the Lady Chaps as the No. 6 seed entering this week's Lone Star Conference Championships. Lubbock Christian opens postseason play Thursday at Schaeffer Park against No. 3 seed and No. 18-ranked Angelo State University in a quarterfinal matchup.
Vire became LCU's lone first-team selection after emerging as one of the conference's most complete offensive threats. The Waxahachie, Texas native leads the Lady Chaps in batting average (.409, 6
th in LSC), hits (65, 7
th in LSC), doubles (17, 5th in LSC), triples (5, 2
nd in LSC), total bases (104, 10
th in LSC), slugging percentage (.654, 15
th in LSC), runs scored (42, 13
th in LSC) and multi-hit games (19), while also tying for the team lead with 12 multi-RBI performances. She also proved dangerous in clutch situations, batting .479 with runners in scoring position and .500 with the bases loaded. Vire, a preseason Lone Star Conference Player to Watch, extended her impact beyond the plate by reaching base safely in leadoff opportunities at a .613 rate.
Hamilton earned second-team honors after serving as one of the conference's top two-way contributors. At the plate, the Denison, Texas native hit .312 with nine home runs, 46 RBI and a .565 slugging percentage, ranking 11th in the conference in RBI. Hamilton co-leads the Lady Chaps with 12 multi-RBI games and has produced 16 two-out RBI, while also pacing the team in advancing runners from third base with fewer than two outs. In the circle, Hamilton has posted a 2.96 ERA across 54.1 innings and limited opposing hitters to a .236 batting average, which ranks sixth in the conference in hits allowed per seven innings. Her selection followed preseason recognition as a conference Pitcher to Watch.
Flores secured all-conference honors for the third time in her collegiate career. The senior middle infielder from Lubbock is hitting .306 with 20 walks and a .435 on-base percentage while anchoring one of the conference's top defensive infields. Flores led the Lady Chaps with a 15-game streak of reaching base safely earlier in the. Her veteran leadership in the middle infield has LCU leading the Lone Star Conference and ranking third nationally in double plays turned per game (0.56).
Pacheco has enjoyed her freshman campaign by earning both Third Team All-LSC and All-Freshman Team recognition. The Las Vegas, New Mexico, product started all 50 regular season games at shortstop and ranks fourth nationally with 147 assists, which also leading the Lone Star Conference. Her 2.94 assists per game ranks second nationally among Division II players and first in the conference. Offensively, Pacheco has added 35 hits, five home runs and 24 RBI while helping stabilize the middle of the Lady Chaps defense throughout conference play.
As a team, Lubbock Christian ranks first in the Lone Star Conference and third nationally in double plays per game while ranking among the conference's top 10 in batting average, doubles, slugging percentage, ERA and WHIP.
The postseason now shifts to Schaeffer Park, where LCU will attempt to continue its momentum against one of the nation's toughest conference tournament fields.
