How it Happened:
  • LCU registered the game's first run in the opening frame. Clemmer and Arredondo each singled and Morgan Dufour drew a bases-loaded walk for the opening 1-0 lead.
  • Newman was held to one hit over the opening 5.1 innings by LCU pitcher Taylor Franco. The lone hit allowed in the span was an RBI single from Paige Wallace in the third inning to tie the game 1-1.
  • In the bottom of the sixth inning, Lauren Kuhrt grounded out to produce a run, but the inning ended on the play, as Bugner was thrown out at home plate.
  • Entering the top of the seventh inning down 2-1, LCU was able to tie the game with a two-run single by K'leigh Arredondo to put LCU up 3-2.
  • The Lady Chaps could not hold the lead, as Emma Eck hit a two-out double to plate Lacey Colvin from first base.
  • Savannah Wysocki completed a four-hit performance with a single and eventually scored on a Lindzi Clemmer single in the eighth inning. Both hits came with two outs.

 Inside the Numbers:
  • LCU did not have a four-hit performance last season. Savannah Wysocki's four hits is her second of the season and the team's four of the season (22 games).
  • The comeback marks the second consecutive game in which LCU trailed entering the top of the seventh inning and won. They are 2-5 in which they have trailed after six innings.
  • The win marked LCU's seventh win in relief, as Amber Carlton improved to 4-1 with the relief win.
  • The one-run victory has LCU with a 5-1 record in games decided by a run.
  • Lindzi Clemmer's RBI in the eighth inning extends her team-high mark of two-out-RBI to 12 on the season.

  • Pitcher Jordan Wehr improved to 6-2 on the season and it was her first complete game of the year, as she went all seven innings.
  • The game marked LCU's first game this season in which no errors were committed. It was the fourth error-free game by the Lady Chaps, who are 2-2 when clean in the diamond.
