LUBBOCK, Texas (April 16, 2019) – Lubbock Christian University split their ninth Heartland Conference doubleheader of the season, as the Lady Chaparrals wrapped up their Heartland Conference season series with Oklahoma Christian winning the opener 8-5 before falling in the season series rubber match 6-5 at PlainsCapital Park.

Game 1 vs. OC

Turning Point:
With two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the third inning, LCU's
Megan Darling had a seven-pitch at-bat, which resulted in a three-run double to left field to give LCU a 3-2 lead.
How it Happened:
- OC had three solo home runs in the game, with Lindsey Stoeckel (second inning), Lacey Davidson (third inning) and Sierra Schultz (fourth inning) each going deep for the Lady Eagles.
- LCU rallied from a 2-0 deficit with a bases-loaded double from Megan Darling with two outs, which resulted in all three baserunners scoring for a 3-2 LCU lead.
- With the score tied 3-3, LCU regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning with Lindzi Clemmer hitting a two-out three-run home run for a 6-3 lead.
- The two teams traded a pair of runs in the fifth inning. After a pair of unearned runs for OC, LCU's Logan Grado hit a RBI-single to left field and Morgan Dufour then scored off an error for an 8-5 lead.
- Amber Carlton came in for LCU starting pitcher Jordan Wehr and pitched 2.0 scoreless innings, allowing one hit to claim her second save of the season.

- LCU improved to 3-2 this season when their opponent hits two home runs or more.
- Savannah Wysocki hit a triple in the first inning, which was her national co-leading eighth of the season.
- Lindzi Clemmer's home run was her fifth of the season and the 24th of her LCU career.

Daelyn Denny hit a two-run home run as part of a three-run top of the fifth inning to provide OC a 6-2 lead. The lead was too much for LCU to overcome.
How it Happened:
- OC had the first three runs of the game. After a run in the second inning, the Lady Eagles scored a pair in the second inning off a two-run double to right centerfield by Lindsey Stoeckel.
- LCU cut into the deficit with a pair of runs in the bottom of the third inning, as Lindzi Clemmer and Megan Darling each had an RBI and took advantage of an OC error to cut their deifict to 3-2.
- The Lady Eagles received a two-run home run from Daelyn Denny during a three-run inning for a 6-2 lead.
- LCU had their chances during their comeback bid. Alivia Villarreal drove in a run and Annika Schwartzenberg followed with a pinch-hit RBI-double to cut their deficit to 6-4. An error with two outs in the seventh inning allowed LCU to pull within a run with two runners on base. Logan Grado flew out to shortstop to end the game and OC escaped with a 6-5 win.

- LCU fell to 6-5 in one-run games. Of LCU's last six losses, four have been one-run losses. LCU has dropped their last four one-run decisions, including all three of their losses to OC.
- OC claimed the five-game season series, winning three of the five meetings.
- The Lady Eagles were 0-for-7 in two-out at-bats.
- LCU, going 4-for-6 in the opening game in having the leadoff batter reach base, went 4-for-7 in the second game of the doubleheader.
