HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Chaps put three shots on goal in the first ten minutes alone, finally finding the back of the net on a goal from Celia Duarte. Hollie Windham assisted
- LCU scored again less than ten minutes later after a corner kick, with Maddie Hoel firing a ball past the WBU goalkeeper with assists from Duarte and Tegan Wilson
- Wayland Baptist finally put a shot on goal in the 34th minute, but goalkeeper Hannah Wise made a save
- The Lady Chaps got their third goal from a third different player less than five minutes into the second half, as Allison Scott found the back of the net on an assist from Hollie Windham
- Duarte scored again for the fourth goal in the 53rd minute with another assist from Windham and one from Haley Knesek as well
- The fifth and final LCU goal of the day came in the 68th minute off a corner kick. Wilson took the corner and Gabby Gomez netted the goal
LCU HIGHLIGHTS
- Celia Duarte scored twice in the game, and the freshman now leads the team with three goals and eight points this season
- Hollie Windham had assists on three of the Lady Chap goals. She had none coming into the game but now leads the team in that category
- Lubbock Christian racked up 35 shots in the game, including 21 during the second half. Duarte was the team leader with nine, including four on goal
- LCU's defense limited the Pioneers to just two shots on goal all game
- The Lady Chaps earned 10 corner kicks and allowed just two from the Pioneers
LADY CHAP NOTES
- Windham recorded three assists on Lady Chap goals, marking the first time an LCU player recorded three assists in one game since October 6, 2018 when Stephanie Renteria also had three
- Eight different Lady Chap players recorded shots on goal in the game, led by Duarte with four
- Lubbock Christian's 35 shots in the game were the most in a single game since an October 6 win against Oklahoma Christian
- Goalkeeper Hannah Wise made two saves in the win, bringing her to 120 for her career. She now just needs seven more to become the LCU all-time leader
