Lubbock Christian fell 3-0 in their first road game of the season, which split their Lone Star Conference West Division two-match home-and-home series with West Texas A&M. The Lady Chaps were plagued by 27 attack errors and had trouble slowing down a .297 hitting percentage of WT. Torrey Miller led WT with 13 kills. LCU had nine kills from Avery Moore and a double-double performance (19 assists, 14 digs) from Jalee Sims.

How It Happened

Set One:
LCU fell behind early in the opening set, with WT taking a 6-2 lead, but they rallied back with Avery Moore produce a pair of kills during a 5-0 run to take a short-lived 7-6 lead. WT scored 10 of the next 15 points for a 17-12 lead. Miller and Katrina Johnson each had a pair of Lady Buffs kills to help WT end the set on an 8-1 run to take the set 25-14.

Set Two:
WT's momentum carried into the second set, as they opened the set on a 7-1 run. LCU was unable to cut the deficit inside a three-point margin. They used a 4-1 run, highlighted by kills from Kalli Dalland and Zoe Parker, to cut the deficit to 17-13, but it was as close as LCU would get. They rallied late with a 4-0 run before falling in the set 25-17.

Set Three:
A kill and an ensuing ace by Kayla Elliot sparked a 6-2 WT run to break an 8-8 tie. Avery Moore pounded a kill to break the run and cut the WT lead to 14-11, but WT responded with a 9-2 scoring surge. WT built the lead to 23-13 before LCU scored four of the next five points. The deficit was too much to overcome, and WT won the season 25-17.
