LUBBOCK, Texas (October 21, 2023) -- Lubbock Christian University improved to 8-1 on Saturdays behind a career-high performance from Lacie Schooley, as they closed a four-match homestand with a 3-1 win (25-15, 26-28, 25-22, 25-13, 25-13) over Texas A&M International in Lone Star Conference play inside Rip Griffin Center.
The conference victory improved Lubbock Christian's record to 14-8 overall and 6-6 in the LSC.
The Lady Chaps were led by a .607 hitting performance from Schooley, who pounded a match-high 17 kills. LCU received double-doubles from Kiana Fallaha, who registered 15 kills and 16 digs, and Kayton Genenbacher, who had 51 assists and 15 digs on the day. Lily Bickley also added 13 kills to help the offense, which produced 62 kills and 60 assists in a four-set match. On the defensive end, five Lady Chaps (led by Fallaha) had double figures in digs and Kalli Dalland had four blocks. TAMIU had 15 kills from Mia Molina and 13 each from Ariana Guerra and Anna Ligart.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Chaps took control of the set-one lead at 5-4 and never looked back to win 25-15. Lubbock Christian used a pair of 7-2 scoring runs in the frame and collected 15 kills without committing an attack error in the process (on 36 attempts). Lily Bickley and TAMIU's Anna Ligart led their respective squads with five kills in the set. LCU had an attack percentage of .417 in the set.
SET 2 | Lubbock Christian dropped set two 28-26 to tie the match 1-1. The Lady Chaps fought back from a seven-point 9-2 hole, but Texas A&M International held on to take the set (the Dustdevils had four set-point serves). Molina produced six kills in the set for TAMIU, as LCU was led the frame by five kills from Fallaha.
SET 3 | Lubbock Christian then got back on the winning track, emerging victorious in set three and taking a two sets to one lead in the match. The Lady Chaps won the set 25-22 thanks to a strong showing on the attacking end. Lubbock Christian registered a .314 attack percentage with 18 kills in the set win. After the lead changed hands three times, the Lady Chaps took control for good at 22-21 and rode that advantage to victory. Guerra (TAMIU) and Schooley co-led the set as each led their team with seven kills in the set.
SET 4 | Lubbock Christian kept the momentum going, closing out the match with a 25-13 set-four victory. The Lady Chaps led from the opening point on in the set to earn the victory. Lubbock Christian opened up as much as a 13 point lead at 23-10 (involved a 13-5 LCU run) before closing out the stanza, totaling 15 kills along the way. Lubbock Christian also supplemented their offense with three aces in the set (two by Rankin). Genenbacher had 14 assists in the set. Schooley closed out the match getting five kills on six attempts in the final set.
