AUSTIN, Texas - The Lubbock Christian University men's soccer team kept St. Edward's off the scoreboard and grabbed a 2-0 shutout win Saturday (Oct. 28) on the road at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
The win boosted Lubbock Christian's record to 6-3-7 overall and 2-2-4 in Lone Star play.
How it Happened
- Lubbock Christian broke the 0-0 tie when Nako Amare recorded his second goal of the season in the 62nd minute, assisted by Nicolo Tocco.
- 41 seconds later, the Chaps extended their lead when Saimon Gjeci scored his sixth goal of the season, assisted by Amare.
Game Notes
- Goalkeeper Tom Miles piled up five saves for the Chaparrals bringing his season total to 86.
- Gjeci's sixth goal puts him in a tie for first on the team with Pablo Galietero Diez.
- Tocco's assist was his second of the season.
- LCU has won back-to-back games for the third time this year.
