ODESSA, Texas – The Lubbock Christian University men's basketball team will face-off with Southeastern Oklahoma State in the opening game of the Walk On's Thanksgiving Classic on Friday afternoon. Tip-off with the Savage Storm is set for 2 p.m. from the Falcon Dome.

Graduate Student Tiras Morton has made a huge impact in his first season in Lubbock. He is leading the team with 16.8 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. He has been very efficient on the offensive end shooting 55.8 percent from the field and 67.6 percent from the foul line. Morton has also been the anchor of the LCU defense, protecting the rim and guarding opponent ball handlers. He swatted six shots and grabbed a steal in the first five games.
 
ALL EYES ON NAJEEB
Junior Najeeb Muhammad has commanded the Chap offense averaging 14 points and a team leading 2.6 assists per game. Muhammad is shooting 55.1 percent from the field and 40.0 percent from behind the arc. He has been greedy on the defensive end collecting seven steals this season.

MAKE IT RAIN
Redshirt Freshman Ethan Duncan is leading the Lone Star Conference with 16 made three pointers. Duncan is shooting a very impressive 47.1 percent from downtown. He is averaging 12.4 points and 3.2 made threes a night.
 

LAST TIME OUT
Forward Aaron Gonzales scored a career-high 20 points as the Chaps defeated Southern Nazarene 84-69 Saturday afternoon at the Rip Griffin Center. LCU shot lights out going 31-of-54 (57.4 percent) from the field, 11-of-24 (45.8 percent) from three, and 11-of-13 (84.6 percent) from the foul line. LCU forced 12 Crimson Storm turnovers which led to 17 points. To go along with Gonzales, Muhammad (14 Points), Ty Caswell (16 points) and Morton (13 points) scored in double figures for the Chaps.
 
LOOKING AT THE SAVAGE STORM

• Southeastern Oklahoma State enters Friday with a 3-3 record and a two-game win streak.
• The Savage Storm opened their season in Lubbock at the D2 CCA Tip-Off Classic, beating Northen Michigan and falling to West Texas A&M.
• Southeastern finished 18-10 in 2022-23, falling in the first round of the GAC Conference Tournament.
• Junior Kody Clouet is leading the way for the Savage Storm, scoring 21.8 points a game shooting 58.9 percent from the field and 51.4 percent from behind the arc.
