LUBBOCK, Texas (March 28, 2023) - The Lubbock Christian University women's tennis team fell 6-1 in a Lone Star Conference home dual to No.33 Midwestern State Tuesday at Penny Gullo Tennis Center.

The Lady Chaps fell behind 1-0 in the dual after MSU swept doubles competition. The Mustangs clinched the match early after winning the first three singles matches for a 4-0 lead.
 
LCU's lone singles victory was by Michele Trochez, who defeated Hannah Yip 7-5, 6-1 in No.2 singles competition. Maya Adler (No.5) and Anastasiia Opolska (No.6) each closed out the dual dropping their singles matches in three sets.  
 
Trochez's match win improved her team-leading win total to 12, as she is 12-8 overall in singles matches this season. She improved to 3-1 in LSC duals singles matches and 11-4 in duals overall on the season.

LCU's loss was their second to a nationally ranked foe (team) and places them 1-2 on the season against ranked opponents in duals. The Lady Chaps have a 10-7 record in duals and they fall to 1-3 in Lone Star Conference duals. They remain at home Friday, as they host UT Permian Basin at 11 a.m. at Penny Gullo Tennis Center.
