WICHITA FALLS, Texas (March 4, 2023) – The Lubbock Christian University women's tennis team split a pair of neutral site matches against programs from the Central Region, as LCU defeated Southwestern Oklahoma State 5-2 Friday and fell to Southwest Baptist (Mo.) 4-2.

Playing their first regular season spring schedule dual away from home, the Lady Chaparrals opened with a sweep of doubles play. Doubles teams
Michelle Trochez / Jacquemin Axelle (No.1 doubles) and Annastasiia Khrustaleva /
Anastasiia Opolska (No.2 doubles) each won handily to give LCU a 1-0 dual lead.
SOSU took the No.3 singles match for their first point, tying the dual 1-1, but
Oshini Herath (No.4 singles) and
Emily-Bo Meyer (No.5 singles) each won in straight sets to give LCU a 3-1 lead. Khrustaleva clinched the dual with a 6-2 tally in the third and decisive set to defeat Vanessa Nitu in No. 1 singles. Opolska also added a victory for LCU in No.6 singles to take the dual 5-2.
