LUBBOCK, Texas - The Lubbock Christian University women's soccer team shutout long time rival Wayland Baptist 2-0 at LCU Soccer & Track Facility Saturday night.

Lexi De La Cruz found the back of the net for the Lady Chaps in the victory.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Freshmen Emily Douglas got LCU on the board in the seventh minute off of a corner kick. This was Douglas' second goal of the season.
- The LCU defense held the Pioneers to three first half shots and took a 1-0 lead into the half.
- De La Cruz extended the LCU lead in the 65th minute scoring off an assist from Maya Quinones and Avery Jennings.
- The Chaps finished the game with a 2-0 win and improve to 3-1-2.
GAME NOTES
- The Lady Chaps extend their winning streak over Wayland Baptist to four straight.
- De La Cruz's goal is her fifth of the season, the most in the Lone Star Conference.
- LCU out shot Wayland Baptist 20-4.
- Kara Murray made three saves in the win.
- Wayland Baptist did not take a single corner kick.
- 20 Lady Chaps saw action, including goalkeeper Megan Mirabel who made her first appearance of the season.
