PORTALES, N.M. – The Lubbock Christian University women's soccer team opened Lone Star Conference play by beating Eastern New Mexico 2-0 on Wednesday night.
Kenley Blevins and
Avery Jennings found the back of the net in the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Lady Chaps took an early lead when Blevins scored off a Jennings assist in the second minute.
LCU had more opportunities in the half but could not capitalize on them, taking their 1-0 lead into halftime.
In the 72
nd minute Jennings used her right foot to put a shot in the top left corner of the goal to extend the Lady Chap lead.
Hannah Irons was credited with the assist.
GAME NOTES
- Blevins and Jennings recorded their first goals of the season in the win.
- LCU goalkeeper Kara Murray only faced one shot on goal.
- The Lady Chaps outshot ENMU 16 to four.
- Of LCU's 16 shots 5 were on goal.
