LUBBOCK, Texas - The Lubbock Christian university women's soccer team lost to St. Mary's 2-1 Saturday at home at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex.
Lubbock Christian dropped to 4-2-2 overall and 1-1-0 in Lone Star play following the defeat.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- St. Mary's opened the scoring when Juni Ejere scored in the 10th minute.
- The Rattlers took the 1-0 lead into halftime.
- StMU extended their lead to 2-0 on a goal from Shelby Paniagua in the 47th minute.
- Lubbock Christian got on the scoreboard to make it a 2-1 match on Evie Rodriguez's 74th-minute goal, her second of the season. Lexi De La Cruz assisted the goal.
- The score finished off the 2-1 game.
GAME NOTES
- Kara Murray piled up three saves for the Lady Chaps out of nine total Rattlers shots.
- Megan Mirabel also made a save in the match.
- The Lady Chaps recorded eight shots on goal.
- De La Cruz's assist was her sixth of the season.
