LUBBOCK, Texas (September 30, 2023) -- Lubbock Christian University produced 14.0 blocks, with Lily Bickley posting a career-high 9.0 blocks, but it was not enough, as Texas-Tyler Patriots posted a 3-1 (21-25, 32-30, 24-26, 21-25) win over the Lady Chaparrals Saturday in Lone Star Conference play inside Rip Griffin Center.
The loss dropped Lubbock Christian's record to 9-5 overall and 1-3 in LSC play, as the Lady Chaps drop consecutive matches in LSC play for the first time this season.
The Lady Chaps attack was paced by Bickley, who finished with 15 kills on the day while accumulating a hitting percentage of .406, and by Kiana Fallaha, who had 11 kills. Defensively, LCU had four players reach double figures in digs, highlighted by Kayton Genenbacher's 17, 16 from Chloe Menard, and 14 more from Ramsey Clark. From the front row, Bickley contributed nine blocks and Lacie Schooley added six rejections.

How It Happened
SET 1 | The Lady Chaps found themselves in an early deficit, dropping the first set 25-21. Lubbock Christian trailed by as many as eight points as Texas-Tyler never trailed after a 2-1 lead in a set that was tied up four times before the Patriots took control with an 8-2 run. Bonnie Hegarty led UTT with five kills in the set.
SET 2 | Lubbock Christian responded to pick up a 32-30 victory in the second set, evening the match at one set apiece. The Lady Chaps came out on top of a tight second set, winning in a stanza that was tied 16 times and had eight lead changes. The Lady Chaps racked up 18 kills over the course of the set. Lubbock Christian's front row had a solid defensive performance, blocking five Texas-Tyler attacks in the stanza and capitalizing on 10 Texas-Tyler attacking errors on the way to victory. There were eight set-point serves in the set and the Patriots had five of them before LCU clinched on their third set-point serve. Koski produced a whopping 11 kills in the set for UTT. LCU was led by Bickley, who had five kills and four blocks.
SET 3 | Texas-Tyler responded to win set number three, putting Lubbock Christian in a two sets to one hole. The Lady Chaps couldn't survive a furious Texas-Tyler rally, losing 26-24 after leading by eight points at 10-2 earlier in the set (also led 24-21).
SET 4 | Lubbock Christian then dropped the fourth set 25-21 to finish off the match. The Lady Chaps dropped the first point and never clawed back into the lead before falling in the set. Bickley had five kills in the frame.
