LUBBOCK, Texas - After getting down 3-1, the Lubbock Christian University men's soccer team scored two goals in the final 10 minutes to draw with MSU Denver.
The draw brings the Chaps record to 2-0-1 on the season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Chaps got on the board early when
Ezequiel Fidabel found the back of the net in the seventh minute. He was assisted by
Enzo Jaques.
The Roadrunners evened the score in the 29th minute when Adan Perez snuck one past the goalkeeper.
MSU Denver extended their lead just four minutes later when Tanner Stevenson scored off an assist from Aidan Bates.
The score remained 2-1 going into halftime.
The Roadrunners extended the lead to 3-1 in the 64th minute, when Noah Hannula scored off an assist from Luke Bone.
With things looking bleak,
Lucas Carli put one past the Roadrunner goalkeeper. This cut the MSU Denver lead to 3-2.
With less than three minutes remaining the Chaps scored the equalizer.
Lucas Carli found
Saimon Gjeci who ripped a shot passed the Roadrunner goalkeeper.
The Chaps threatened again in the final seconds, but could not put it away.
GAME NOTES
- Tom Miles faced 19 Roadrunner shots, making nine saves.
- Six different Chaps have scored goals this season.
- Saimon Gjeci is the only Chap with multiple goals so far in 2023.

The Chaps will be back in action next Thursday (Sept. 14) as they take on South Dakota Mines. The game will take place at home and is scheduled to kick-off at 7:30 p.m.
