KINGSVILLE, Texas (October 26, 2024) – Lubbock Christian University finished the day at the Lone Star Conference Championships in tenth place out of 14 attending schools.
Freshman Brooke Morelock was the top Lady Chap finisher, slotting in 50th overall. She recorded a time of 23:48 and gained her second top team finish of the season, her first since the NJMC Invitational II.
Fellow freshman Yahaira Martinez finished behind Morelock in the team standings and 58th overall, continuing her strong performance from last meet, where she was the top Lady Chap finisher. The remaining Lady Chaps finished as follows: Chloe Trull (23.59, 61st), Madelyn Merrell (24:01, 62nd), Amy Tew (24:54, 77th), Bucki Smith (24:59, 79th), Kinley Cornelsen (25:01, 80th), Kylie Knapp (25:35, 89th), Mitzy Madrid (25:51, 93rd) and Keely Franco (27:43, 105th).
West Texas A&M captured the Lone Star Conference championship for the second consecutive season and their fourth title overall. The Lady Buffs also claimed the top three individual finishers, as Sarah Koomson got the individual victory with a time of 20:32.
Lubbock Christian will continue action as they move into national competition, participating in the NCAA South Central Regional Championships in Denver, Colo. on November 9, 2024.
