SAN ANTONIO, Texas (October 5, 2024) – Lubbock Christian University extended its unbeaten streak to three matches, battling St. Mary's to a scoreless draw on Saturday at Sigma Beta Chi Field. With the result, both teams now hold identical records of 4-3-2 overall and 2-1-1 in Lone Star Conference play.
How it Happened
Lubbock Christian struggled to break the deadlock in the first half, as both teams exchanged shots throughout the period. The Lady Chaps headed into halftime with a 6-3 advantage in shots.
St. Mary's came out strong in the second half, launching an impressive eight shots. However, LCU's defense stood firm, preventing any goals during the period. Despite not recording a shot themselves in the second half, LCU managed to secure a draw against the Rattlers. Goalkeeper Kara Murray was instrumental in this effort, making her second start of the season and successfully saving all five shots on goal from St. Mary's.
