DALLAS, Texas (February 23, 2024) –
Axelle Jacquemin was able to claim a 6-3 third-set win to claim a victory in No.3-singles to clinch a 4-3 duals win for the Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals over Harding Friday at Northwood Club.
LCU had to play from behind after Harding claimed two-of-three matches in doubles play for a 1-0 lead. Returning All-Lone Star Conference selection
Anastasiia Khrustaleva made her season debut, playing alongside
Andrea De Bernardo in doubles play (No.2-doubles), and helped claim LCU's only doubles victory. The win by De Bernardo / Khrustaleva was posted against the team of Karli Roux & Romane Britt, who are ranked No.25 nationally in No.3 in the Central Region.
The Lady Chaps were able to bounce back and take a 3-2 lead after winning three of the first four completed singles matches.

Mariia Koroleva (No.6-singles) and No.42
Andrea De Bernardo (No.1 singles) each won in straight sets for the short-lived lead, as Harding won the No.2-singles match to tie the dual 3-3. Jacquemin won the first set 7-5, but dropped the second set 6-4. She kept LCU perfect on the season in duals play (7-0) by claiming the final set for the 4-3 dual victory.
De Bernardo (12-4) and Adler (12-2) improved claimed their 12
th wins of the season in singles, and they are each 6-0 in duals play (in singles). Koroleva (10-2) and Jacquemin (10-6) each moved into double-figures in singles victories on the season, and Koroleva leads LCU with an active four-match win streak (she is 5-0 in duals singles).

"The shorthanded Lady Chaps showed a lot of grit and overcame injuries, illness and obstacles to get the win," said LCU head coach

LCU heads to Frisco, Texas Saturday and will face Metropolitan State of Denver (11 a.m.) and Pratt Community College (3 p.m.) at Liberty High School Tennis Courts.
