ORLANDO, Fla. (March 10, 2024) – No.19 Lubbock Christian University got their Spring Break slate of duals off to a good start and in comeback fashion, as they rallied from a 3-0 deficit for a 4-3 victory over Rockhurst Sunday at USTA National Campus.

Tristan Vigneron win in No.1-doubles was the lone doubles win for LCU. It was Abamu and Vigneron's first time together playing in a No.1-doubles position.
After Rockhurst too the No.5 and No.4 singles matches, LCU found themselves trailing 3-0. No.61 nationally ranked Vigneron broke the sequence, claiming a win in No.1-singles over No.68 Louis Keiner.
Herman Aguirre (No.6-singles) and No.29 Matins Abamu (No.2-singles) followed with match victories to tie the dual at 3-3. The No.3-singles match was the lone remaining match and it needed a tiebreaker.
Mattia Ghedin was down 5-1 in the tiebreaker, but rallied for a 10-6 win to clinch the match and the dual.
The win placed LCU with a 9-1 mark on the season in duals. Ghedin's win marked his fifth consecutive singles win, which actively leads LCU (9-7 on the season).
LCU continues their Spring Break in the Sunshine State Tuesday in Altamonte Springs, Fla., as they face Augustana (S.D.) at Sanlando Park with a 10:30 a.m. (Central) start.
