LUBBOCK, Texas - The Lubbock Christian University Track & Field program raced to 15 top-10 finishes at Texas Tech's Corky/Crofoot Shootout this Friday and Saturday.
For the Lady Chaps,
Keely Franco placed third in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 44:56.11. Three Lady Chaps placed in the top-10 in the 3,000 meter steeplechase, Olvia Weider took home the silver medal running a 11:24.55,
Kylie Knapp placed eighth with a 13:31.92 and
Julia Nelson finished ninth with a 14:44.87. LCU ran a 3:44.99 in the 4X400 meter dash to finish fourth. In the section B shot put,
Jazmene Duran and
Abigail Jones placed seventh and eighth, respectively. Duran threw 12.31 meters and Jones threw 11.86 meters.
On the men's side,
Nathaniel Luna continued his impressive season with a eighth place finish in the 200 meter dash, running a time of 21.05. In the 1,500 meter run,
Kaleb Gaona ran a 4:07.13 to finish seventh.
Aiden Zingone placed third in the 3,000 meter steeplechase running a 10:45.07. The LCU men placed third in the 4X400 meter relay with a time of 3:14.67. In triple jump,
Ose Olumese finished ninth with a final mark of 14.04 meters.
Bryce Spencer took home the silver medal in the hammer throw and section B discus, throwing 64.01 meters in hammer and 55.29 meters in discus.Â
