LUBBOCK, Texas (September 25th, 2024) -- Lubbock Christian and Dallas Baptist finished in a 0-0 tie Wednesday at LCU Soccer & Track Complex after a hard-fought battle by both teams. Despite a high number of shots, the Chaparrals could not find the back of the net and snapped their two-game winning streak. This result drops Lubbock Christian to 3-2-2 on the season.
Through only seven games, the Chaparrals have already recorded two 0-0 ties. Since the inception of the program in 2010, Lubbock Christian has recorded 11 of these ties, with five of them coming in the last two seasons. Furthermore, the Chaparrals had a record seven ties last season and seem to have carried that tendency into this season.
How it Happened
Lubbock Christian recorded 12 shots in the scoreless tie, five of them on goal. Many of these Chaparral opportunities came from corner kicks, as they had six in the match, double the number of the Patriots. The Chaparrals held Dallas Baptist to only four shots with just one shot on goal.
