LUBBOCK, Texas - The Lubbock Christian University women's soccer program got goals from Ceci Madrid and Avery Jennings in a 2-0 shutout victory over Adams State Saturday (Sept. 7) at home at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex.
The win boosted the Lady Chap's record to 1-0-1 overall and secured the first win of the Coach Alistair Caldwell era.
How it Happened
LCU opened the scoring when Madrid scored her first goal of the season in the 13th minute, assisted by Jennings.
The Lady Chaps tacked on another score on a goal from Jennings in the 33rd minute, assisted by Mia Chambliss and Ella Spiller. The 2-0 score held to the end of the game.
Game Notes
- Emma Wright recorded one save for the Lady Chaps out of three total Grizzlies shots.
- Of LCU's five shots four were put on goal.
- Madrid's goal was the first of her collegiate career. Lexi De La Cruz led the team with two shots on goal in the win.
- 25 different players saw action in the game for LCU.
