Game Notes
» Maci Maddox notched her second career double-double for the Lady Chaps with 18 points and 10 assists. The 18 points and 10 assists were two shy of her career-high mark in each category. The 10 assists tied for the ninth-most in a single game since 2008. The Lady Chaps shared the ball well, recording an assist on 70 percent of made field goals (21 of 30).
» The Lady Chaps shot well from three-point range, knocking down 10-of-23 long range attempts (43.5%). It marked the third game this season LCU connected on at least 10 three-pointers. Overall, LCU was 51.7% (30/58) from the field. The 30 field goals matched a season high and 51.7% shooting marked the third time this season LCU shot over 50% from the field.
» LCU held the Lady Buffs to only 31.7 percent shooting from the field. It is the ninth time LCU has held their opponents under 40% from the field this season.
» All 70 points scored by LCU were from the field, as LCU did not have a made free-throw in the game and only had one attempt in the entire game. It marks the first time in the 23-year year tenure of LCU head coach Steve Gomez in which they did not have a made free-throw and the one free-throw was the least amount shot under his tutelage. Ironically, the previous low was a 2-of-3 showing on the same date (January 5) of 2006 against Oklahoma City. While WT was 12-of-14 from the stripe (85.7%), the 13-free-throw advantage marked the biggest margin by an LCU opponent since UT Tyler had a 26-6 advantage on Jan. 19, 2023. As a reference, LCU ranks third in the LSC averaging 20.4 free-throw attempts per game on the season (they entered averaging 15.7 points per game from the line).
» Lubbock Christian had a 36-35 edge on the boards in the win. A notable mark, as WTAMU entered the game leading the LSC in defensive rebounds per game (29) and finished the game with 21.
» The Lady Chaps were active in affecting shots on the defensive end, tallying seven blocks as a team. Foster and Schumann each had three.
» Audrey Robertson led the Lady Chaps with a game-high 19 points. She was 7-of-11 from the field and 5-of-7 from three-point range. The five three-pointers marked a new career high.
» The win improved LCU to 3-1 on the season in true road games (all have been in conference play).
» LCU won their third consecutive meeting against WT in the all-time series and improved to 11-6 all-time against their geographic rivals. The Lady Chaps are now 4-4 all-time in Canyon against WT.
