AUSTIN, Texas (October 25, 2025) — Lubbock Christian fell to St. Edward's 2-1 on Saturday at Lewis-Chen Family Field.
The visitors managed 19 shots, with nine on target, but were held to a single goal. Lubbock Christian found the net once in the second half, but St. Edward's had already scored twice in the first half, securing the victory. The match included a total of 24 fouls, evenly split between the teams.
Lubbock Christian holds an overall record of 6-6-2 and a conference record of 4-4-2. St. Edward's stands at 6-8-2 overall with a 5-5-2 mark in conference play.
Trinity Doom scored the team's sole goal, contributing with two shots and one shot on goal.
Emma Wright made four saves, preventing further goals against 15 shots faced.
Sydney Smith managed two shots on goal, tying for the team lead in that category.
The visitors managed several shot attempts early in the first half, with
Logan Holloway and
Bonnie Miller both testing St. Edward's goalkeeper, Daria Schlumbohm, but without success. Despite the Lady Chaps' efforts, Marie Hannedouche of St. Edward's capitalized on opportunities, scoring both goals to put the home team ahead.
Throughout the half,
Riley Espinoza and
Mia Chambliss also saw their shots saved by Schlumbohm, while Wright made key saves to limit further damage. The half concluded with the Chaps trailing 2-0, despite their active attempts on the offensive front.
The second half began with a quick offensive push from the Lady Chaps, as
Journey Curs took an early shot that went out. The decisive moment came in the 52nd minute when
Trinity Doom found the back of the net, reducing the deficit to 2-1.
The Lady Chaps maintained offensive pressure with multiple attempts, including shots from
Sydney Smith and
Maya Quinones, both of which were saved by the SEU keeper.
Emma Wright's key saves, especially in the closing minutes, kept the game within reach. Despite a strong effort, Lubbock Christian could not equalize before time expired, concluding the match with a 2-1 scoreline in favor of St. Edward's.
