LUBBOCK, Texas (November 7, 2025) – The Lubbock Christian men's and women's cross country teams will compete at the South Central Cross Country Regional Championship on Saturday at Walking Stick Golf Course in Pueblo, Colorado.
Â
The women's 6K race will start at 11 a.m. MT (Noon CT) and the men's 10K race will follow at 12:15 p.m. MT (1:15 CT).
Â
The top three teams automatically qualify from each of the eight regions, for a total of 24 teams. Ten additional teams were selected at-large. A minimum of 24 additional individuals can be selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process.
Â
Both LCU teams were unable to compete at the regional meet in Colorado last season, as inclement weather kept them from traveling.
Â
Lubbock Christian's men are coming of a solid sixth-place finish at the Lone Star Conference Championships, which was the highest by the Chaps since 2019, when they placed second.
Â
Alfons Rawall was the top finisher, posting a new 8K personal best with a time of 25:52.26. Rawall also paced the Chaps at their season-opening meet in Lubbock. In Rawall's only official 10K race he has run in college (in his freshman year) he completed the course with a time of 34:45.9.
Â
The Chaps also got strong performances at the conference meet from
Gavin Morrison,
Samuel Bryan and
Matthew Gordon, who all finished in the 30s. Morrison's 8K time was the best of his collegiate career.
Â
For the Lady Chaps, the LSC Championships saw an eighth place finish.
Â
LCU's women have been led all season by graduate student
Olivia Weider, who is running cross country this year after a career with the Lady Chap soccer team. She posted a new 6K personal best at the conference meet with a time of 22:19.77, earning All-Conference honors with a 12
th place finish.
Â
Brooke Moorelock was LCU's second finisher at the conference meet with her best time of the 2025 season.
Â
Two other seniors join Weider on the team –
Amy Tew and
Kylie Knapp – who both placed in the 50s at the LSC Championships.
