LUBBOCK, Texas (April 18, 2025) – No. 20 Lubbock Christian University swept visiting Western New Mexico 7-0 in Lone Star Conference women's tennis action Friday morning at Penny Gullo Tennis Center, dominating in both doubles and singles to improve to 15-5 on the season and 5-2 in LSC play. The Lady Chaps secured the doubles point with wins at the top two positions and then cruised through singles, claiming four matches in straight sets and receiving two wins via forfeit.
The doubles point was clinched in efficient fashion, with

Axelle Jacquemin and
Andrea De Bernardo, ranked No. 19 nationally at No. 1 doubles, followed to seal the point with a 6-4 win over An Montero-Villegas and Caini Wang. Court three went unfinished with LCU's

LCU raced out to a 3-0 lead in singles with back-to-back wins by forfeit at the No. 5 and No. 6 spots, credited to
AnaMaria Zoric and
Alexandra Luders. The match was officially clinched shortly thereafter on court two, where De Bernardo delivered a clinical 6-1, 6-1 win over Montero-Villegas. Koroleva kept the momentum going with a 6-0, 6-2 victory on court three over Wang, followed by

Key performers for LCU included the doubles tandem of Jacquemin and De Bernardo, who collected their 17th win together (17-10 on the season). Maria Koroleva claimed her 18
th singles win on the season (18-7) to co-lead the team in singles victories (with Zoric). The match was LCU's first home match under the guidance of newly appointed head coach Hutton Jones.
LCU's shutout marked their fourth of the season and 13th in program history, including their 11th by a 7-0 score. The Lady Chaps improved to 3-0 all-time against WNMU and it was the first time LCU has swept the Mustangs.
Saturday's scheduled non-conference match against Sul Ross State was postponed due to weather and will be played Monday at 4 p.m. at Penny Gullo Tennis Center. The makeup match will serve as LCU's regular-season home finale.
