LUBBOCK, Texas (April 7, 2025) - Lubbock Christian received contributions from every part of their lineup, as all nine starters reached base safely, but the Chaparrals fell to West Texas A&M 11-6 Monday at Hays Field, splitting the series with the Buffs.

Senior
Jake Llaneza (1-3) started and took the loss on the mound for Lubbock Christian as they fell to 23-15 overall and 22-14 in Lone Star Conference play. They are tied for fifth place in the league standings with Eastern New Mexico, who they will take on next weekend in Portales.

Kyle Lewis furnished a standout effort at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a double. Senior
Frayner Chavez also helped out for Lubbock Christian, putting together two hits in four trips to the plate while adding two RBI, and
Shea Bowen homered in a 1-for-3 perforance.

HOW IT HAPPENED
WT scored early and often in the game, getting six runs through the first three innings. The Chaparrals were trailing by that margin when Bowen put Lubbock Christian on the board with a two-out solo home run off junior Julius Carpio. It was the only run allowed by the Buff starting pitcher in his five inning of work.

The Buffaloes added a run in the fifth before LCU's offense went back to work in the sixth. They loaded the bases and scored three runs in the frame, cutting the deficit to 7-4.

West Texas A&M scored a run in the seventh and then added two more in the eighth to lead 10-4. Lubbock Christian got their final two runs in the bottom of that same inning. WT scored once more in the ninth before the game ended.
