LCU Falls 2-0 to UT Dallas

Chaps Honor 16 Seniors Following Match

LUBBOCK, Texas (September 13, 2025) — Lubbock Christian fell 2-0 to UT Dallas on Saturday at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex in a game that was delayed due to weather for almost two hours.

After the match, LCU recognized its 16 graduating seniors. The group includes Geoffroy Letienne, Fracisco Horta, Manu Nunez, Agusto Militao, Kade McKinzie, Hugo Staunton, Lucas Carli, Pierluigi Paradiso, Ty Gibbs, Shota Tokuhisa, Andrea Monticelli, Carlos Kramer Silva, Tom Walton, Trevin Walkowski, Daniel Castetter and Bryan Alderete.

The Comets found the net once in each half, while their defense held strong, and their goalkeeper recorded a shutout, as their team capitalized on early opportunities to set the pace for the match.

Lubbock Christian fell to 1-3-0 overall following the 0-2 defeat. Texas-Dallas improved to 2-2-0 on the season with the win.

The first half began with a strong defensive showing from the Chaparrals, as Connor Pettigrew made key saves early to keep UT-Dallas at bay. Despite these efforts, Texas-Dallas broke through with a goal from Callum Thompson in the 13th minute, assisted by Luke Harris.

Lubbock Christian's Francisco Horta attempted to equalize in the 33rd minute, but his shot went wide, leaving the home team trailing 1-0 at the end of the half.

The second half began with UT-Dallas extending their lead with a goal from Harris in the 50th minute. The Chaps responded with a series of attempts, as Horta, Pedro Lucas, and Geoffroy Letienne each took shots, but were unable to find the net.

GAME NOTES:
- The Chaps were held without a shot on goal for the first time since September 4, 2022, in a game against Midwestern State.
- Letienne and Joao Catafesta were the only two Chaps to play the entire 90 minutes of the match.
- This matchup with UT Dallas was a non-conference meeting, but the Chaparrals will get a shot at revenge on Oct. 15 in Richardson, Texas.
