SAN ANTONIO, Texas (September 23, 2025) – Lubbock Christian University men's tennis turned in a mix of veteran steadiness and first-year debuts at the Trinity Fall Invitational, which featured a diverse field ranging from NCAA Division I Incarnate Word to NAIA Our Lady of the Lake. The two-day event also included host Trinity (Division III) and Lone Star Conference foe St. Mary's, with LCU and the Rattlers serving as the lone Division II programs in attendance.
The Chaparrals were paced by sophomore
Andres De Los Rios, who capped a perfect 3–0 singles run by defeating teammate
Mattia Ghedin in the championship of the top flight. De Los Rios added wins over Incarnate Word's Santiago Flyckt and St. Mary's Leonardo Fabbri to move to 5–1 on the year, now leading LCU in season singles victories. Ghedin, who opened with wins over OLLU's Bastien Prod'homme and UIW's Marcel Miralles, joined De Los Rios in providing strong top-line depth.
Alexandre Sulpicy bounced back from a narrow loss against UIW with back-to-back singles wins, including a 10–8 super-tiebreak triumph over St. Mary's Louie Hein. In doubles, Sulpicy and Ghedin teamed for two wins, highlighted by an 8–7 victory over St. Mary's Fabian Rosales and Aaron Ben Anton.
Freshmen
Blake Rogers (Keller, Texas) and Marton Szabo (Deerfield Beach, Fla.) made their collegiate debuts, gaining experience against a strong field. Szabo picked up his first collegiate doubles victories, pairing with
Zachary Hazel for two wins, while Rogers competed through three singles matches.
LCU did not travel its full roster to the event, with several returners held out ahead of the ITA South Central Regional. The Chaparrals return to action Oct. 2–4 in Wichita Falls, Texas, at the regional tournament hosted by Midwestern State.
