LUBBOCK, Texas (October 3, 2026) — Lubbock Christian recorded it's second straight shutout, defeating Eastern New Mexico 4-0 on Saturday at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex. The Lady Chaps outshot ENMU 19-5, put 11 shots on goal and scored three times in the second half.
LCU improves 7-2-3 overall and 4-1-3 in conference play. Eastern N.M. is 1-8-1 overall and 0-6-0 in conference play.
The Lady Chaps pressured Eastern N.M. from the opening minutes, with
Samantha Simpson taking a pair of shots early before corner kicks at 3:19 and 3:58 and an
Araceli Patterson shot saved at 4:22.
Emma Wright kept the match scoreless during Eastern N.M.'s early response with a save at 6:10, and the Lady Chaps added more first-half chances before
Addyson McElhaney put the Lady Chaps ahead at 36:24, scoring off
Journey Curs' assist for the first half's only goal.
Sydney Day had a shot saved at in the 42nd minute, and the Lady Chaps went to halftime with a 1-0 lead after outshooting Eastern N.M. 11-3 in the half.
The Lady Chaps exploded for three more goals in the second half, including two by Curs. She stretched the lead to 2-0 in just six minutes in when she broke away with
Claire Jacobson. Jacobson ran down the wing with the ball and played it into the center of the box were Curs settled it with one touch, spun 180 degrees and scored with her heel.
Curs then added another goal in the 63rd minute with
Kendall DeBlanc assisting to make it 3-0. Between those goals, the Chaps kept pressure on with a corner kick and shots from
Maya Quinones and
Kaslee Roskelley that were saved.
Kara Murray preserved the shutout with a save in the 69th minute, and the Lady Chaps answered with another attacking stretch that included two corner kicks, a
Logan Holloway shot that was saved and
Trinity Doom's goal at 73:00 for the 4-0 final score.
GAME NOTES:
- The Lady Chaps' four goals are their most in an LSC match this season. The last time they scored at least four times in a league contest was Oct. 4, 2025, when they won 7-0, also against ENMU.
- Lubbock Christian improved to 7-1-2 all time against the Greyhounds, including an undefeated 3-0-2 record in matches played in Lubbock.
- Curs had her second multi-goal match of the season and recorded five points in a single match for the first time in her career. It is the first five-point match by a Lady Chaps player since last season's matchup with ENMU, when
Ella Spiller's hat trick gave her six points.
- The Chaps notched their fifth shutout of the season, matching the season total from 2025 and lowering their goals against average to 0.92.
- Freshman McElhaney had the game-winner, scoring the first goal of her collegiate career and becoming the 11th different Lady Chap to find the back of the net this year.
