Balanced Offensive Output Leads LCU Past UTD

Eight of Nine Chap Starters Record Hits in Win

LUBBOCK, Texas (February 27, 2026)  — Lubbock Christian University scored in five different innings on Friday, securing a run-rule victory against UT Dallas in the series-opener at Hays Field.

The Chaparrals' offense was bolstered by a 14-hit performance, including three doubles and two triples. UTD managed two runs in the sixth inning, but it was not enough to overcome the early and consistent scoring from LCU.

After a pair of shutout innings to start the game from Chap starter Aiden Moore, the scoring began in the second inning when Owen Alsup singled up the middle and Roe Forrest doubled. Tanner Pachorek followed with a walk to set the stage for Dylan Marx, who hit a three-run triple to right center, giving the Chaps the lead.

It looked like the Comets would respond right away, as they put their first two batters on in the top of the third and had the bases loaded with one out, but Dakota McCaskill got a strikeout and groundout to end the threat.

In the bottom of the third inning, Aaron Morales was hit by a pitch and later scored on a single by Forrest, extending the lead to 4-0.

The fourth inning saw the Chaps add three more runs. Pachorek doubled to right center and scored on a fielding error. Hudson Grace tripled, bringing Kyle Lewis home, and Jorge De Los Santos singled to drive in Grace, giving LCU a 7-0 lead.

Two more runs were added in the fifth inning. Pachorek doubled again and scored on a single by Grace. Morales then singled through the right side, allowing Lewis to score after a walk, growing the lead to nine runs.

UTD broke through in the sixth inning, but Kyle England limited the damage to just a pair of runs.

LCU went scoreless in the sixth, but in the bottom of the seventh they loaded the bases with one out, forcing a pitching change from UT Dallas. Alsup greeted the new hurler with a two-run single, and Forrest drove in another run to end the game.

After a strong performance as the opener, Aiden Moore earned the win on the mound in his first appearance of the season. Pitching four innings in relief, Kyle England earned his first save of the year.

GAME NOTES:
- Forrest had the first three-hit game of his Chaparral career and the ninth by an LCU player this season
- LCU batters struck out just three times, which was tied for their lowest strikeout total in a game this season. They also struck out only three times on Feb. 8 against Sul Ross
- Marx and Grace both tripled, giving the Chaps their first multi-triple game since April 12, 2025, when they had three against Eastern New Mexico. That is the only time last season that they had multiple triples in one game
- The Chaps hit a whopping .476 (10-for-21) with runners in scoring position in the win
- With five extra-base hits, Lubbock Christian raised their slugging percentage for the season to .503, which leads the Lone Star Conference

NEXT UP:
The Chaps will try and build on the momentum of the win on Saturday, as the continue the series with the Comets with a doubleheader. First pitch is set for 1 p.m.
