No. 13 Eagles Sweep LCU to Open Eight-Game Trip

Oklahoma Christian Limits Lady Chaps To Six Total Hits In 7-2 And 3-1 Lone Star Conference Wins

OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (February 27, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University opened its eight-game road swing with its first road setbacks of the season, as No. 13 Oklahoma Christian snapped LCU's four-game road win streak with a Lone Star Conference doubleheader sweep Saturday afternoon at Tom Heath Field. The Eagles limited the Lady Chaps to three hits in each contest, claiming 7-2 and 3-1 victories.

GAME 1
The Eagles used a four-run fourth inning to break open a tight contest and claim a 7-2 victory over LCU in the opening game of a Lone Star Conference doubleheader.

Lubbock Christian fell to 8-9 overall and 4-3 in Lone Star Conference play, while the Eagles improved to 14-3 overall and 6-1 in league action. Senior Jill Dickson (7-2) earned the complete-game victory for Oklahoma Christian, allowing two runs on three hits over seven innings with three walks and nine strikeouts on 107 pitches.

LCU junior Kadin Vire accounted for both Lady Chaps runs, finishing 1-for-3 with a two-run double deep in the gap in left-center. Lexi Clark and Ava Castillo each added a hit for Lubbock Christian, which was limited to three total hits.

Sophomore Natalee Gray (3-2) took the loss for LCU, allowing five runs on eight hits over four innings with four walks. Junior Reese Farrar worked the final two innings, surrendering two runs on three hits.

Oklahoma Christian was paced by Maci George, who went 3-for-3 with a double, three RBI and a walk. Kadence Brewster added three hits, including an RBI double, while Sydnee Seat finished with two hits and two runs scored as the Eagles collected 11 hits.

HOW IT HAPPENED
After navigating early traffic in the first inning, LCU kept the game scoreless through two frames before Oklahoma Christian struck in the third. George drew a one-out walk and came around to score on Brewster's double down the left-field line for a 1-0 lead.

The decisive blow came in the fourth. Following a one-out single by Kiley Brewster and a walk to Zyria Palmer, Seat delivered an RBI single to make it 2-0. George followed with a two-run single to right-center, and Brewster capped the rally with an RBI single down the right-field line as the Eagles built a 5-0 advantage.

Dickson kept the Lady Chaps off balance through five innings, allowing just one hit while striking out seven.

LCU mounted its lone threat in the sixth. Clark singled to left and Castillo followed with a bunt single to put two aboard. After a strikeout, Vire delivered a two-run double to left-center, trimming the deficit to 5-2 and briefly shifting momentum.

Oklahoma Christian answered immediately in the bottom half. Marti Yaerger singled and Seat followed with a bunt hit before a wild pitch allowed Yaerger to score. George then lined a double to deep center, plating Seat and extending the lead to 7-2.

Dickson closed the door in the seventh with back-to-back strikeouts, sealing the opener for the Eagles.

GAME NOTES

» Dickson did not allow a hit through the opening 17 batters she faced, as she had a no-hit bid for five innings. Lexi Clark broke up the no-hitter with a leadoff single in the top of the sixth inning.

» LCU was 0-for-7 in two-out at-bats.

GAME 2
OC struck early and rode a strong complete-game performance from freshman Ella Resendiz to secure a 3-1 victory over the Lady Chaps in the second game of a Lone Star Conference doubleheader.

Lubbock Christian dropped to 8-10 overall and 4-4 in Lone Star Conference play, while the Eagles improved to 15-3 overall and 7-1 in league action. Resendiz (4-0) scattered three hits across seven innings, allowing one run with three walks and nine strikeouts on 123 pitches to complete the sweep for Oklahoma Christian.

Freshman Lexi Clark (0-1) took the loss for LCU, working five innings and allowing three runs on nine hits without issuing a walk. Senior Ashlinn Hamilton tossed a scoreless sixth inning in relief.

Ava Castillo drove in LCU's lone run and finished 1-for-4, while Cat Prisock and Coryn Burris each added a hit for the Lady Chaps. Oklahoma Christian collected 10 hits, led by Kadence Brewster, who went 3-for-3 with a solo home run and a double. Danae Lopez added two hits and an RBI, and Kallie Rupp doubled and drove in a run.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Oklahoma Christian wasted little time setting the tone in the opening inning. Maci George doubled down the right-field line to lead off the frame, and Brewster followed with a single to put runners at the corners. Lopez delivered an RBI single through the right side for the game's first run, and Rupp later doubled to deep center to score Kiley Brewster and extend the lead to 2-0.

The Eagles added to their advantage in the third when Kadence Brewster launched a solo home run to left field, pushing the margin to 3-0.

Clark settled in after the early damage, retiring six straight at one point and stranding a runner at third in the fifth. In that inning, Brewster doubled and moved to third on a wild pitch, but Clark fielded a ground ball and started a pitcher-to-first-to-catcher double play to cut down Brewster at the plate and keep LCU within three.

Resendiz kept the Lady Chaps off balance most of the afternoon, striking out multiple batters in three different innings and allowing just one runner past second base through six frames.

LCU mounted its lone rally in the seventh. Madison Hunter was hit by a pitch to begin the inning, and Prisock followed with a bunt single. After a walk to Alexis Pacheco loaded the bases with one out, Castillo hit into a fielder's choice RBI, with Hunter getting home to trim the deficit to 3-1. However, a lineout to left field ended the threat and sealed the Eagles' victory.

GAME NOTES
» LCU was held to three hits in consecutive games, as the three hits in each game are season lows.

» Kadin Vire had her streak of reaching base safely end at 14 games, as she did not reach in the second game. Brianna Chambers-Lee is now LCU's active leader with an eight-game streak.

» Ava Castillo had a hit in each game and actively leads LCU with a four-game hit streak.

» LCU went 2-for-10 in two-out at-bats, finishing the game 2-for-17 on the day in two-out at-bats.

» Pitcher Ella Resendez did not allow a hit to the first 13 batters she faced, as Coryn Burris broke up any thoughts of a no-no after 3.2 innings, as Burris had a two-out single in the fourth inning for LCU's first hit.

» The Lady Chaps suffered their first road losses of the season and are 4-2 in road action this season.

» LCU fell to 0-6 this season in games against nationally ranked programs.
