LUBBOCK, Texas (April 12, 2026) — Lubbock Christian University secured the series win against Eastern New Mexico with a 12-8 victory on Sunday at Hays Field.
The Chaps jumped to a strong start with four runs in the first inning, adding three more in the second. The team then sealed the win with a decisive four-run seventh inning. Eastern New Mexico attempted a late comeback with four runs in the eighth but fell short.
The Chaparrals now have a record of 24-18 and have moved into fifth place in the Lone Star Conference standings, just a game back of St. Edward's for the No. 4 spot.
Eastern New Mexico got on the board first, but the Chaps took the lead quickly, scoring four runs in the bottom of the frame.
Jorge De Los Santos started the scoring with a two-out homer to left field, followed by
Ryan Gargett's RBI double.
Freddie Nolen closed the inning with a two-run homer to right, giving the Chaps a lead they would not relinquish.
The momentum continued in the second inning as LCU loaded the bases and
Hudson Grace cleared them with a three-RBI double to right center, extending the lead to 7-1 through two innings.
ENMU added a run in the third inning on a throwing error, but Lubbock Christian maintained its lead, 7-2, after three innings.
In the fourth, De Los Santos delivered again with an RBI single to center, increasing the margin to 8-2 after four innings. A quiet fifth and sixth inning followed, with no additional runs scored by either team.
In the seventh inning, the Chaps' offense reignited. De Los Santos singled, and
Johnny Gomez III's single set the stage for Nolen, who reached on a fielder's choice, scoring De Los Santos.
Tanner Pachorek walked with the bases loaded to score another, and
Kyle Lewis hit a two-RBI single to right center, advancing the lead to 12-4 at the end of the seventh.
The Greyhounds responded in the eighth inning, capitalizing on an error to score four unearned runs, narrowing the gap to 12-8, but
Isaiah Gonzalez came in on the mound for the ninth and pitched a scoreless frame to close out the game.
GAME NOTES:
- The Chaps are now 76-26 all-time against the Greyhounds and have not lost multiple games against ENMU in one season in Lubbock since 1971.

Hudson Grace finished the weekend batting .467 against ENMU with six of his seven hits going for extra bases for a slugging percentage of 1.000.
- The Chaps hit two homers on Sunday, which are the only two they hit in the four-game series. They are now second in the LSC with 46, one back of UT Tyler.

Bryce Nall allowed just one earned run for his second consecutive start, lowering his season ERA to 5.17. The Greyhounds were just 2-for-11 (.182) with runners on base against the sophomore.
- The Chaps hit .365 with runners in scoring position on the weekend, compared to just .200 from ENMU.

Lubbock Christian will head out on their final road trip of the regular season next weekend, traveling to Lawton, Oklahoma to take on Cameron in a series that starts at 6 p.m. on Friday at McCord Field.
