GREENSBORO, N.C. (May 28, 2026) - The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Div. II All-Region teams and Regional Players of the Year were announced this week, with Lubbock Christian University junior pitcher Aaron Rubio named to the All-South Central Region First Team. 

This is the third All-Region First Team honor for Rubio, as he was also recognized by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and the Division II Conference Commissioners Association. 

Rubio, who was an All-Lone Star Conference First Team selection, finished the 2026 campaign with a 10-1 record and one save. In 82.2 innings of work he posted a 3.27 earned run average with 70 strikeouts. He tossed three complete games, two of which were shutouts, while holding opponents to a .268 batting average. Twice this season Rubio was named Lone Star Conference Pitcher of the Week, and he also won the NCBWA's South Central Region Pitcher of the Week award two times. 

Lubbock Christian finished the season 34-23, reaching the NCAA Tournament for the fourth-straight season and seventh time overall.
