LUBBOCK, Texas (September 11, 2026) – Lubbock Christian University got back in the win column on Thursday and will look to build on that momentum on Saturday as they host No. 25 Fort Hays State at 11 a.m. at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex.
 
CHAPARRAL NEWS AND NOTES

• LCU scored a season-high three goals in Thursday night's game against Newman. All three goals came from three different players. Augusto Militao was one of the players to find the back of the net, becoming the first Chap to score multiple time this season. He leads the team and ranks 10^th in the LSC in points with six.
• Oliver Robinson also had one of the Wednesday night goals, finding the back of the net once on six shots on goal. That mark is tied for the most by an LCU player in a single game in the NCAA era, previously done only once by Fernando Flores on Sept. 14, 2019 against Oklahoma Baptist. A freshman, Robinson is second in the conference in shots with 16.
• Junior goalkeeper Milo Paci made four saves on Thursday night to help preserve the win. He is currently fourth in the league with 16 saves. He has a save percentage of .696 so far this year and a goals against average of 1.44.
• Fort Hays will be the second team this season that the Chaps have faced that are ranked in the top 25 nationally. UCCS was ranked No. 12 last week when LCU met them in Colorado. LCU's last win against a ranked opponent was Oct. 5, 2022, when they beat No. 16 Oklahoma Christian 1-0 behind a goal from Heriberto Campuzano.
• Saturday is the second-to-last non-conference game for the Chaps this season. In 2025, they went 1-5-1 in their nonconference games in the regular season.

 
SCOUTING THE TIGERS

• FHSU started the season ranked inside the top 10 but has dropped through the first two weeks of the season, putting them at 25 entering play this week
• The Chaps and Tigers have one common opponent, after FHSU tied 1-1 with Fort Lewis last week
• Six different FHSU players have scored goals so far this season, led by Len Valkema, who has found the back of the net twice already
• Payton Roehrich has handled the goalkeeping for the Tigers, posting an .846 save percentage against just two goals allowed in 353 minutes of playing time
• Head coach Alex Nichols is in his third season as the coach of the Tigers with two national tournament appearances and an overall record of 35-6-8 in his tenure
