Lachevre Scores for Chaps

LUBBOCK, Texas (September 12, 2026) — Lubbock Christian played No. 25 Fort Hays St. to a 1-1 tie on Saturday at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex. It was a chaotic second half, featuring nine FHSU shots on goal and goals by both squads, but ultimately neither team was able to pull ahead.

The Chaps are 2-3-1 overall. The Tigers are 2-1-3 overall.

The Chaps kept FHSU off the scoreboard in a physical first half and recorded five shots, including two efforts that forced saves before halftime. Alex Lachevre took the Chaps' first shot in the 15th minute, and the home side added a corner kick at 22:18 while the Tigers' early chances stayed limited.

The match tightened through a stretch of fouls and cautions, with Max Moorahrend receiving a yellow card at 25:59 as the Chaps played through continued contact. LCU pressed again late, with Junior Lopez and Jack Brassey putting shots on frame and Augusto Militao missing left, but the half ended 0-0.

In the second half, the game opened up and both teams created more scoring opportunities. Milo Paci kept the match scoreless with two saves in the opening minutes of the half, and Joao Catafesta forced a save at 47:34. FHSU generated a stretch of corners and shots from 58:15 through 68:58 that the Chaps absorbed without conceding.

The Chaps took the lead in the 73rd minute on a goal by Lachevre. Receiving the ball right in front of his own bench in the defensive midfield, the Barcelona native dribbled the length of the field past a number of Tiger defenders, splitting the last pair and beating the FHSU keeper on the left side to put the Chaps on top.

The Tigers answered two minutes later, when Len Valkema scored off a corner kick. The Chaps then played through another late wave of Tigers pressure, with Paci adding saves in the 82nd and 84th minutes, and the match finished 1-1.

GAME NOTES:
- Lachevre has now scored in back-to-back matches, joining Agusto Militao as the only two Chaparrals with multiple goals so far this season.
