OKLAHOMA CITY (September 12, 2026) — Lubbock Christian came from behind to defeat Oklahoma Christian 2-1 on Saturday at Eagle Soccer Field. The Lady Chaps conceded an early goal but bounced back, and
Emma Wright made four second half saves to secure LCU's first victory in LSC play.
The Lady Chaps are 4-1-1 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play. The Eagles are 3-3-0 overall and 0-2-0 in conference play.
For the second-straight game, the Lady Chaps fell behind on a goal in the game's opening minutes, as Jaycie Daggs scored in the third minute.LCU tried to answer quickly with a corner kick at 4:54 and a
Mia Chambliss shot that Breanna Wooten saved at 8:22 but they could not break through. The Eagles applied pressure later in the half with three shots between 15:50 and 18:13 and a corner at 23:51, but the Lady Chaps kept the deficit at one.
Lubbock Christian's equalizer came in the 27th minute, when
Claire Jacobson played a ball forward to
Kaslee Roskelley, who caught the OC keeper out in no-man's land. After a
Journey Curs yellow card and an Eagles corner in the 33rd minute, the Lady Chaps reached halftime tied 1-1.
The Lady Chaps turned the pressure on early in the second half and got the go-ahead goal just over ten minutes in. It was again Jacobson to Roskelley, although this time much further away from the goal. Rosekelley found some space and fired, scoring the eventual game-winner from 25 yards out.
They added more chances with a corner at 58:12 and followed with shots from
Maya Quinones and
Addyson McElhaney after the goal but were unable to increase their lead.
Emma Wright kept the advantage intact with saves in the 64th, 73rd, 81st and 82nd minutes as the Eagles generated late shots that were all for naught.
GAME NOTES:
- Roskelley's eight points now put her in the team lead and are enough to rank her fifth in the Lone Star Conference
- The Lady Chaps improve to 15-1-2 all-time against OC in an all-time series that dates back to 2010. They are 7-1-1 in matches played at Eagle Soccer Field
- LCU has only lost once through its first six matches, making this their best start to a season since 2021, when they did not lose their second match until the 10th match of the year
