ALPINE, Texas (September 16, 2026) — Lubbock Christian University earned a point on the road with a 0-0 draw against Sul Ross State on Wednesday at Lobo Soccer Field. The Lady Chaps' goalkeeper made 10 saves, including seven in the second half, as the Lobos held a 13-10 edge in shots.

The Lady Chaps are now 4-1-2 overall and 1-0-2 in conference play. The Lobos are 0-4-2 overall and 0-2-1 in conference play.

Senior goalkeeper Emma Wright was busy basically from the start, keeping the Lobos off the board with saves in the 12th, 17th and 32nd minutes as the home side put multiple shots on frame. Journey Curs recorded the Chaps' first shot on goal in the 15th minute. 

Late in a scoreless first half, the Lady Chaps generated the cleaner chances, including Kendall DeBlanc's saved shot in the 27th minute and Riley Espinoza's attempt in the 37th that required a team save. The visitors earned a corner shortly after DeBlanc's chance, but neither side broke through before halftime as the segment ended 0-0.

Wright and the Lady Chaps kept the Lobos off the board throughout the second half, with Wright recording seven saves throughout the final 45 minutes. She stopped shots in the 51st and 66th minutes, and the Chaps played through a physical stretch from the 55th to 64th minute that included five total fouls. 

The Lobos generated four attacking chances from 65:22 to 72:06, but Wright made three saves in that span and another shot went wide. The Lady Chaps pushed back late, getting saved shots from Addyson McElhaney, Kaslee Roskelley and Claire Jacobson, along with another Jacobson attempt, before Wright added late saves in the 86th and 88th minutes to preserve the scoreless finish.

GAME NOTES: 
- Senior goalkeeper Wright posted a career-high 10 saves to secure the clean sheet. It is the first time a Lady Chap goalkeeper has reached the double-digit save mark since 2023, when Kara Murray had 10 saves against Regis.
- The Chaps were out-shot 13-10 by the Lobos, which was the fourth time this season they have been out-shot. They are now 2-1-1 in those contests.
- The Lady Chaps remain unbeaten in Lone Star Conference play and now have five points in the league standings, behind four teams in a tie for first.
- Araceli Patterson played 77 minutes in the match, and the freshman leads the team in time on the field with 461 minutes in her freshman campaign.
- All seven of the Lady Chaps' shots on goal came from different players. Sixteen different players have recorded at least one shot on goal for the Lady Chaps so far this season, and their 49 total shots on goal are the fifth-most in the LSC.
