LUBBOCK, Texas (September 19, 2026) — Lubbock Christian University earned their second-straight shutout with a 2-0 win against Angelo State on Saturday at the LCU Soccer & Track Complex. LCU scored once in each half and held ASU scoreless despite both teams putting five shots on goal.

The Lady Chaps are 5-1-2 overall and 2-0-2 in conference play. The Rambelles are 1-5-2 overall and 0-3-1 in conference play.

Angelo State had the first scoring opportunity of the game, putting a shot on frame in the third minute that was saved by Emma Wright. The Lady Chaps responded with a sustained push as Journey Curs hit the woodwork at 14:34, Kaslee Roskelley forced a save at 15:10 and Curs put another shot on frame at 32:42. 

Logan Holloway put Lubbock Christian in front in the 37th minute. Curs took a free kick just into LCU's offensive half of the field. Her set piece was headed toward the goal mouth by Riley Espinoza, where Holloway hit it into the back of the net. 

After Holloway's goal, the Rambelles responded with three corner kicks and four shots in less than four minutes, but Wright made two saves during that stretch and the Layd Chaps kept the visitors off the board to hold a 1-0 lead at halftime. 

Sydney Smith tried to double LCU's lead quickly, but sent a shot wide right in the 47th minute, as the Lady Chaps continued to keep the Rambelles scoreless. Samantha Simpson put a shot on frame at 64:15, while Wright made saves at 69:31 and 76:48 as LCU stayed in front. 

The Lady Chaps finally broke through again in the 79th minute, when Espinoza was fouled in the box for an LCU penalty kick. Kali Guy converted the first attempt Lubbock Christian has had from the spot this year and ASU did not even attempt a shot for the remainder of the game as LCU won 2-0. 

GAME NOTES:
- This is the first time in program history that the Lady Chaps have beaten the Rambelles in women's soccer. They are now 1-7-2 against the Rambelles since the all-time series began in 2019
- The Lady Chaps have now recorded back-to-back shutouts and three total this season. Their goals against average is now 0.88, which is the sixth-lowest in the LSC
- Logan Holloway's goal was her first game-winning goal of the season and the fourth she has scored overall. Her four goals are tied for the fifth most in the LSC
- The Lady Chaps were out-cornered for just the second time all season, drawing only two compared to four for the Rambelles. It is their first win this season when finishing with fewer corners than their opponent
- Wright made five saves to earn the clean sheet and now has 35 on the year. Her .854 save percentage is fourth-best in the conference
