TYLER, Texas (September 26, 2026) — Lubbock Christian suffered their first loss in Lone Star Conference play on Saturday, falling to UT Tyler 3-1 at the Perkins Soccer Complex. The Lady Chaps were outshot 24-10, including 9-3 in shots on goal.

The Lady Chaps are 5-2-3 overall and 2-1-3 in conference play. UTT is 4-2-1 overall and 3-1-0 in conference play.

LCU was playing from behind the eight ball almost from the start falling behind 1-0 just 1:17 into the first half, but Emma Wright kept the deficit at one with a save on a UTT shot at 8:14. 

The Lady Chaps then put together a concentrated attacking spell in the 24th and 25th minutes, with Logan Holloway taking shots at 23:05 and 23:43, a corner kick at 23:54 and Araceli Patterson adding a shot at 24:22. 

The Patriots scored again at 26:11 to move ahead 2-0. Addyson McElhaney followed with a shot wide right at 28:50 before Holloway added another attempt at 36:08, but the Lady Chaps were unable to break through before the break. 

LCU created a stretch of pressure early in the second half, with Jacobson and Patterson putting shots on frame and Kaslee Roskelley missing high. UTT answered with a sustained push, but Wright made saves on Quinn Wolfe and Presley See before a team save denied Lily Moreno. 

Moreno scored at 74:56 to put the Patriots ahead 3-0, though, putting the game basically out of reach. Mia Chambliss scored in the 85th minute off a Claire Jacobson assist to get the Lady Chaps on the board late and Wright made two more saves before the final horn sounded. 

GAME NOTES:
- The three goals allowed by the Lady Chaps are their most in a match this season. The last time they allowed three or more goals was the first match of the 2025 season, when they lost 3-1 to No. 4 Colorado School of Mines.
- Wright's season total is 45 saves, which is the fourth-most in the Lone Star Conference.
- UTT's 24 shots are the most attempted in a match by a Lady Chaps opponent since Sept. 10, 2022, when they allowed 29 shot attempts in a 2-2 draw against Colorado Mesa.
- Chambliss is the third Lady Chap with at least three goals scored this year. The Lubbock native has scored 10 times in her career.
- Jacobson's assist is the 16th by a Lady Chaps player this season, which is tied for the fourth-most in the LSC.
