COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — Lubbock Christian fell to No. 12 UCCS 2-1 on Sunday at Mountain Lion Stadium. The Chaps were outshot 21-11 but put six shots on goal, and their goalkeeper made eight saves.

The Chaps are 1-3-0 overall. The Mountain Lions are 3-0-1 overall.

Lubbock Christian absorbed extended Mountain Lions pressure in the first half and kept the match scoreless, with Milo Paci making six saves before the break. Earlier, the Chaps answered an early Mountain Lions chance with shots from Aaron DePaula in the fourth minute and Jack Brassey in the 10th, the latter forcing a save. 

The Mountain Lions generated several chances and corners through the middle of the half, but the Chaps held through that stretch, including Paci saves in the 17th, 18th, 32nd and 33rd minutes. Max Moorahrend, Joao Catafesta and Junior Lopez added late first-half attempts for the Chaps, with Lopez putting one on frame in the 40th minute, but the half ended 0-0.

Brassey put the Chaps in front at the 47:01 off an assist from Augusto Militao, but the Mountain Lions answered in the 51st minute and later moved ahead 2-1 on Yohann Fila's goal in the 79th minute.

LCU created a 57th-minute chance that Oliver Robinson put on frame. The Chaps generated their own set-piece pressure midway through the half, earning corners at 67:12 and 67:52 around a Joao Catafesta shot saved by Hugo Sjoberg. After Paci made saves in the 78th and 80th minutes, the Chaps pushed late with a corner and three shots over the final nine minutes, including Junior Lopez's saved attempt in the 87th and Alex Lachevre's shot in the 89th. 

The Mountain Lions held on through the final whistle, and the Chaps finished the match on the short end of a 2-1 score.

GAME NOTES: 
- Brassey's goal is the third of his collegiate career. He last scored on Oct. 8, 2025, against Texas A&M International.
- The Chaps' six shots on goal are their second-most in a single match this season, only behind the eight they had against Adams State.
- Paci's eight saves are his most as a Chaparral and the second-most of his collegiate career. He had 10 while playing for Eastern New Mexico in an Oct. 9, 2024, match against St. Edward's.
