Barraza opened the 2022 indoor season with a new personal best in the 3K at the Rumble in the Jungle, finishing 15th with a time of 9:13.08. He then finished fourth at the Texas Tech Shootout in the 5K with a time of 16:17.94. At the Jarvis Scott Open. Barraza set a personal best in the mile with a time of 4:43.82. He recorded a second place finish at the TTU Masked Rider Open in the 10K with a time of 33:18.01, before finishing second in the 5K at The Open with a time of 16:32.48. He set a personal best in the 1500-meter run at the Corky Classic with a time of 4:19.02. Barraza wrapped up the season with a ninth place finish at the LSC Outdoor Championships in the 10K with a time of 34:30.47.

2021
XC
Barraza opened the cross country season setting a new personal best  in the four-mile run at the Texas Tech Open, recording a time of 21:55.7. He then set a new personal best the next week in the 8K at the ACU Naimadu Classic, finishing 14th with a time of 26:22.0. Barraza recorded two more top-15 finishes for the Chaps, finishing 11th in the 8K at the NMJC Invitational and then finishing in a career-best third place at the 2021 Division-II Preview with a time of 26:46.61 in the 8K. Barraza closed out his cross country season with a new personal best in the 10K at the 2021 South Central Regional with a time of 34:06.8.

2019-20

Although outdoor season was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Barraza ran well during indoor season, setting a new personal best in the 5000-merter at the Texas Tech Shootout with a time of 16:29.67. He also set a new bestin the 300-meter at the Matador Qualifier with a time of 9:25.67. 

XC
As a sophomore, Barraza upped his performance in during cross-country season, setting new personal bests in the 6K, 8K and 10K. His best 8K time of 26:29.0 came at the Chile Pepper Festival in Arkansas, where the Chaps placed higher than Division I programs like North Texas, Baylor and Texas State. He placed 128th at the South Central Regional Championships with a 10K time of 35:19.5.

2018-19

A distance runner, Barraza competed in the 3000-meter  during indoor season, posting a personal best time of 9:37.52 at the Lone Star Conference Championships where he placed 28th. He compete in the 1500-meter and 3000-meter steeplechase during outdoor season. His best time in the steeplechase came at the ACU Oliver Jackson Twilight meet when he placed third with a time of 10:43.78, and ran the 1500-meter with a best time of 4:31.13 at The Wes Kittley Invite and Multi. 

XC
Barraza was apart of the Chaps' second place finishing team at the Heartland Conference Championships, finishing the 8K race with a personal best time of 26:54.6. He competed at the South Central Regional Championships as well, finishing with a time of 36:24.5 in the 10K race.
