Landon, the son of Steve Gomez (women's basketball head coach) joined the Lady Chaparrals in his current role prior to the 2023-24 season. While earning a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports Science (ESS) at LCU (2017-2021), Landon spent three seasons as a student-assistant coach with the Lady Chaparrals. Landon was part of the 2019 and 2021 NCAA Division II national championship squads. He went on to complete a Masters of Science (degree) in Sport Management at Texas Tech, where he served as a graduate-assistant coach for the Lady Raiders basketball program. At Tech, Landon was on staff from 2021-23 and assisted in scouting reports and oversaw the scout/practice teams. The Lady Raiders made their first postseason appearance (WNIT) since the 2012-13 season and made a berth to the Super Sixteen (round).
