Biography

2013-14 (JUNIOR): Haley averaged 13.7 points a game (16th in the conference) during the season leading to All-Heartland Conference Honorable Mention honors. The two-time Heartland Conference weekly award winner finished third in the conference with a 1.6 assist/turnover ratio this season. She also was tied for fourth in three-pointers (53), tied for seventh in three-point shooting (41.1%), eighth in field goal shooting (47.2%) and 13th in assists with 78. Haley claimed conference Player of the Week honors on Jan. 6 after averaging 17 points a contest in wins over St. Mary’s and Texas A&M International. She received Co-Player of the Week in the conference on Feb. 3 after coming off a 28-point performance against Rogers State. CoSIDA named her an Academic All-District honoree, as she held a 3.91 GPA.

Sophomore Season

Haley returned from an injury following the 2011-12 season.  She played in 35 games while scoring 363 points with an average of 10.4/game.  Burton shot 73% from the free throw line and 44% from behind the arch which was fith highest on the team and 60 made to put her at second most on the team.  She would also have 89 assists and 57 steals which were both second most.  Haley was named Thrid Team All-SAC.

Freshman Season

During her freshman season, Haley finished second on the team in three-pointers going 44/124 giving her a percentage of .355. Burton was second in rebounds (133), assists (88) and steals (32).

In High School

Haley was an "all-everything" individual at Shallowater High School. She excelled in the classroom and in athletic competition, claiming valedictorian honors and TABC All-State accolades as a senior. The guard was a two-time MVP of District 3-2A and All-South Plains MVP. The 2009 Caprock Tournament MVP led Shallowater to the District 3-2A championship and four rounds into the playoffs, averaging 11.6 points and 2.9 assists per game. She was also named Academic All-State on the cross country squad, which finished fourth in state, and was co-MVP of the track program, which qualified for regionals in the 400,800 and 1600 meter relays (finished sixth in state in 400 meter relay). Competed with LCU teammate Emily Atkins together in the 1-3A TABC State All-Star Game.
