Mattie Dollar, a guard from Newcastle, Texas, arrives at Lubbock Christian University after a decorated multi-sport career at Newcastle High School... A dynamic three-sport athlete, she was named the 2025 Newcastle Athlete of the Year following standout performances in basketball, tennis, and cross country... On the hardwood, Dollar was a two-time Times Record News Red River 22 Girls Basketball Team honoree and a TABC Class 1A Player of the Year as a senior, also earning Abilene Reporter-News All-Big Country Team and THSCA Academic All-State recognition... She led Newcastle to the UIL Class 1A State Championship in 2023–24, the program’s first-ever title, scoring 24 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the 48–32 win over Turkey Valley to earn State Tournament MVP honors... Coached by her father, Ryan Dollar, she followed up the championship season with a regional finals appearance as a senior, falling to Neches to finish a stellar prep career... Off the court, Dollar finished eighth at the UIL State Tennis Championships and was a state qualifier in cross country, further cementing her status as one of North Texas’ most versatile small-school athletes...
