2022 (Freshman)
True freshman made her debut in LCU's season opener (Aug. 25 at Alaska Anchorage) and appeared in 17 matches over the season... Contributed 70 kills (2.1 per set)... Posted a season-high 11 kills on Nov. 2 against Eastern New Mexico...
High School
A native of Holliday, Texas, Payton attended Holliday High School, where she received athletic accolades in basketball, softball and volleyball... Had competed at Iowa Park High School her freshman and sophomore year prior to transferring to Holliday... Her senior season, she claimed All-District, All-County and All-State (TSWA and TGCA) and Academic All-State honors... Competed in the Oil Bowl Volleyball All-Star Game... In basketball her senior season, she averaged 7.7 points, 4.5 boards, 1.5 assists and 1.4 steals in 31 games en route to All-District accolades... In softball (as a senior), she helped Holliday to a Regional Finals Appearance... As a junior (2020), she was the District 7-3A MVP Blocker and an all-state selection, as she led the Lady Eagles to the regional finals and posted 265 kills and 166 blocks... Also stamped All-District honors in basketball and softball as a junior... Hit over .450 her junior season in softball, leading the Lady Eagles to the State Semifinals (team finished 38-3)... Played amateur volleyball for Windthorst Volleyball Club...
