CHAPS FLIGHT DECK• The Lubbock Christian University Chaparrals close out their first Heartland Conference road trip of the season.
• LCU enters Monday 4-3-1 overall record and coming off a 3-2 double overtime win at Texas A&M In-ternational for a 2-0-0 start in conference play. Lubbock Christian is 2-1-0 this season on the road. They do not have anything longer than a two-game road trip on the season, but they are in a current stretch of playing four out of six games on the road.
• LCU went 5-0-0 in road conference play last season and has never lost a Heartland Conference road game. They are 22-13-5 all-time in road games (6-0-0 all-time in Heartland road games).
STORY LINES• The Chaparrals scored four goals in their combined opening four games of the season, and have combined for 14 goals in their last four games played. Included in the mix was a six-goal performance in a 6-3 win over Texas-Permian Basin.

Tim Saucedo made a start in goal in LCU's Heartland Conference opener and earned his first win since Nov. 1, 2011 (at Wayland Baptist). He made his first start in goal for LCU since Oct. 25, 2012 and it was his fourth career start. He claimed his first win of the season and third of his career. His only goal allowed was off a penalty kick. He followed with a seven-save performance at TAMIU and is now 2-0-0 on the season.

Mbongeni Ndlovu was the hero Saturday, scoring the golden goal in overtime for the LCU win. The goal was Ndlovu's first goal of the season and his third of his LCU career. It was also LCU's seventh all-time golden goal and they are now 7-1-10 all-time in games decided in overtime. Ndlovu's marker was LCU's second ever golden goal in a Heartland Conference contest and their first since Oct. 21, 2013 at Rogers State.
• Surprisingly through the opening week of conference play, St. Edward's and Lubbock Christian Uni-versity are the only Heartland Conference squads without a loss.
• LCU's latest offensive surge has them entering the weekend ranking second in the Heartland Confer-ence in goals per game (2.1) and assists per game (1.9).
Mitchell Hopkins has three assists in seven games to rank second in the conference with a pace of 0.4 assists per game.
• Things were physical Saturday, as the teams combined for 18 cautions for a Chaps single-game pro-gram record (prior high was nine). Twelve of the cards were issued to TAMIU (eight yellows and four red cards) and six were shown to LCU (two red and four yellow cards) resulting in the game to end with 18 players on the pitch (LCU had a 10 vs. 8 playing advantage at game's end). Four of the cards were is-sued to bench personnel.
SCOUTING ST. MARY'S• Like LCU, St. Mary's is coming off an overtime victory, as they defeated Texas-Permian Basin 1-0. The win has them 5-4-2 overall and 2-1-0 in conference.
• StMU enters play 3-2-0 this season at home and they have won two straight at home.
• Jack Wolf and Victor Luna co-lead the Rattlers offensively with five goals and 10 points. Wolf en-tered the weekend with an average of .8 goals per game leads the conference.
• The Rattlers are playing the second game of a string of four straight home games (season long).
SERIES HISTORY WITH ST. MARY'S• LCU leads the all-time series 2-0-0 against St. Mary's.
• Last season, LCU defeated StMU 3-0 in Heartland Conference play in Lubbock.
• The prior meeting in San Antonio came on Sept. 3, 2011, with LCU defeating StMU 6-1.
