STORY LINES• Apparently, when the Lady Chaps lose, it is contagious. LCU has not had a one-loss losing streak since the inaugural 2010 season.
• Sunday at ECU, LCU trailed 2-1 at halftime. It marked the first game this season in which LCU trailed at the half. LCU had only allowed one goal in the first half this season prior to the game. •
Jamie Boone, who had five goals as a freshman last season, has four goals on the season and has goals in consecutive games entering Thursday's contest. It marks the third time in her short LCU career in which she has had consecutive games with a goal. She has never scored a goal in three consecutive games.
• The current three-game losing skid for LCU matches their longest they had last season. The four goals allowed Sunday marked the fourth time LCU has allowed four or more goals under the coaching tutelage of
Alex Denning. It was the most goals LCU has allowed on the road since allowing six on Oct. 17, 2012 (at Oklahoma City).
• Despite only four goals combined for in their prior four games, LCU still leads all Heartland Confer-ence teams in points per game with 7. They lead in both goals per game (2.7) and assists per game (1.7).
Brooke Wendl (2.6) and
Jamie Boone (1.7) are the top two players in the conference in points per game.
SCOUTING UTPB• The Falcons are 1-4-1 this season and enters the game following a 0-0 scoreless tie at home to Texas A&M International in a non-conference game.
• UTPB is 1-3-1 at home this season and they have played five of their six games at home this season. After Thursday's game, they head on the road for four straight games.
• The Heartland Conference selected UTPB ninth in their preseason poll after a 2-16 finish last season.
• Goalkeeper Ebony Campbell claimed Heartland Conference Defensive Player of the Week honors for her play last week. She finished the weekend a perfect 2-0 with 17 saves and a pair of shutouts, as the Falcons finished the week 1-0-1. UTPB defeated Oklahoma Christian 2-0 as Campbell made five saves in earning her first clean sheet of the season. The following day, she blanked Texas A&M International, stopping all 12 shots on goal in a double-overtime 0-0 tie for her second straight shutout.
SERIES HISTORY WITH UTPB• The all-time series between the two squads is tied 1-1-0.
• The two teams split the series last season, with UTPB winning in Lubbock 2-1 in a non-conference meeting, and LCU winning in Odessa 4-0 in a Heartland Conference affair.
• LCU's
Emily Odom scored three goals in the combined two games last season against UTPB, and the Falcons were led in the series by a pair of goals from Kourtnye Chandler.
