WEATHERPLAINVIEW, Texas (September 6, 2014) – The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals are scheduled to play their first road game Saturday morning, as they face rival Wayland Baptist University at 11 a.m. With weather causing havoc through most of the South Plains, the game may be in jeopardy, but it is still scheduled to be played at press time.
LADY CHAPS FLIGHT DECK• The Lubbock Christian University Lady Chaparrals are 1-0-0 this season after opening the season with a 9-2 win over University of the Southwest.
• The Lady Chaps are 2-2 all-time in road openers and 20-13-3 all-time in road contests.
• LCU, who went 10-7-0 overall last season, went 4-4-0 at home last season and is 9-8-0 all-time in road games under head coach

STORY LINES• The last two seasons have seen the Lady Chaps play at opposite ends on the road in non-conference play. In 2012, LCU was 3-0 in road against non-conference foes, but last year went 0-3 in the scenario.
• In 2013, LCU outscored opponents 14-10 on the road, with
Brooke Wendl leading the team with four goals on the road.

Brooke Wendl had quite the season debut Thursday in LCU's 9-2 victory over USW. She tallied a hat trick and added two assists to set a program single-game record with 8 points. The hat trick was the first in Wendl's LCU career. She is the program's career leading goal scorer with 26 goals.

Claudia Sanchez made her LCU debut with a hat trick, scoring all three goals in a span of 19:09. The two hat tricks (Wendl's and Sanchez's) were the sixth and seventh hat tricks produced in program history and the first hat trick since
Saydee Bailey recorded one on Sept.3, 2012.

Jamie Boone and Wendl each matched a program single-game record with two assists, which had been completed 13 times prior to the USW game. It is the fifth time Wendl has completed the task.
• The nine goals by LCU was the most since Sept. 3, 2012, when LCU defeated Wiley 11-0 in Dallas. It matched the program single-game mark at home, last completed when LCU defeated USW 9-0 in the first game played in program history (Aug. 28, 2010). Overall, LCU's nine markers matched the third most in program history. They also produced 25 points (9g, 7a), which was the third most in program history (34 – Sept. 3, 2012).
SCOUTING WBU• The Pioneers are seeking their first win of the season after an 0-2-1 start to the 2014 campaign.
• After tying USW 1-1, WBU was shutout by Abilene Christian 3-0 before falling to ranked Our Lady of the Lake 2-1.
• They went 13-6-1 overall last season, and went 6-3-0 at home.
• Haley Reiser and Jodian Morris have the only goals for WBU, who have been out-scored 6-2 on the young season.
• The Pioneers are preseason picked No.6 in the Sooner Athletic Conference preseason polls.
SERIES HISTORY WITH WBU• LCU leads the all-time series 2-1-1.
• The last meeting between the two teams was on Sept. 10, 2013, with WBU winning 2-0 in Lubbock for their first ever win over the Lady Chaps.
• LCU has never defeated WBU in Lubbock, but they are 2-0 all-time in Plainview.
• The Lady Chaps have four former Sooner Athletic Conference foes on their schedule this season. Rogers State and Oklahoma Christian in conference play and Northwestern Oklahoma State and WBU in non-conference play.
